City Council Passes ERIP and Coalition Agreement
Council action finalizes the agreement, averting up to 3,000 layoffs and furlough paycuts of at least 14%
October 30, 2009
This morning, the City Council unanimously passed ERIP and the Coalition budget agreements.
With its passage:
• The ERIP window will open Monday (see below for details)
• Workers in Coalition units will not be subject to layoff this year (or next year without great penalty to the City)
• The proposed 26 days of furlough on all civilian units will not be implemented, instead replaced by 3.5 hours per pay period for Coalition units
For full details on the agreement, read the summary and ordinance language at right.
Thank you to everyone who helped make sure we reached a positive resolution.
