Coalition Agreement Up for Ratification Vote
Full Details and Text of Tentative Agreements Below
July 7, 2009
For more than a year, the Coalition of LA City Unions worked to help create a budget agreement that secure services, jobs, wages and contracts long enough to weather the economic storm. Negotiators reached a tentative agreement, which passed the City Council unanimously on June 26.
The Coalition bargaining teams unanimously recommend this agreement for members’ ratification, in the belief that it will prioritize services, avoid layoffs that would be so devastating for families and the local economy, and protect against unilateral furloughs that threatened to undermine the wage and hour rules for Coalition union members.
Members of Coalition unions are encouraged to refer to the materials below as you decide how to vote on the agreement. You may also contact your union with any questions and for details about your union’s voting process.
